I’ve sported some other BTTYS (Be True To Your School) dunks from 1999 but the Nike Dunk High SB Iowa arrived a few years later.
They are part of a set of SB dunks created as a throwback to the old BTTYS series. Unlike the ’99 dunk LE’s I’ve reviewed before, these SB’s sport suede and leather uppers. They also have a more padded mesh tongue, a zoom air insole and come with a little commemorative keychain.
The quality of the materials on these is pretty good. The shoe hails from the pink box era and is pretty much on par with the materials used on other kicks from that time. Back in the day when I was trying to collect older SB’s a lot, I fiended for this colorway (my high school had the same team colors) and it was one of the more expensive and harder to find pairs. One of these days I’ll have to stunt the ’99 Goldenrods, which are one of my favorite dunks in my collection and the exact same colorway, but today it’s the Nike Dunk High SB Iowa. I was able to go true to size on these. These are very comfortable at that size!
